Unfortunate(9)
Author: Nicole Dykes

“This is nice.”

“What, you don’t have a pool in your backyard at home?” I ask, enjoying the feel of the water too.

“No, but I have before,” he says with a shy smile, but it’s still nice.

I laugh, taking a minute to dunk my head under and then pop back up, smiling when I see Elijah has done the same thing, his dark hair wet and dripping now. He looks shy and vulnerable as I move a little closer to him, my feet still touching the bottom and my shoulders exposed above the water.

His are as well, being close to my height. His breath catches as I approach him. “What are we doing?”

It’s a breathless whisper, not pushing me away, but I can hear his nerves. His body trembles when I place one hand on his hip and the other on the back of his neck, pulling him into me. “Just having a little fun?”

I say it like a question, giving him every opportunity to push me away or tell me to fuck off or both. But instead, he gives me a small nod. When my lips press to his, I lose all resolve. It’s like I can’t think about anything else, except what’s happening right at this moment.

His lips are firm but soft as they press tentatively against mine, but he’s far from passive. His hand moves up my back to grip my hair tightly as his lips explore mine.

When his tongue sweeps over the seam of my lips, I instantly open for him, groaning when it darts inside, lashing over mine in a show of dominance I didn’t see coming from him.

We kiss, our hands moving everywhere. His fingers still grip my hair while his other hand moves over my flexed bicep. I smooth my hands over his chest and each defined ridge of his abdomen. When his hard cock brushes against mine through our swim trunks, we both moan loudly but don’t stop kissing.

We may be moving too fast, but I don’t want to stop. And if he doesn’t either, I’m all for it. Getting off with this mysterious guy the rest of the world thinks they know, but don’t.

I don’t know him. I’m quickly learning there’s so much more to him.

Somehow, we end up at the edge of the pool, my back against it, and his hand reaches into my trunks, wrapping around my hard shaft. “Is this okay?” he breathes against my mouth.

“Oh yeah,” I say, practically panting. He starts to stroke me, and I groan, my tip already leaking in his hand, getting washed away by the water. I reach inside his trunks, feeling his hard length and kissing him thoroughly when he moans loudly.

“So good.”

We’ve lost track of the kiss, both of us stroking each other and our hips thrusting as our foreheads rub together. We both look down, unable to see much under our trunks and the water.

It’s no less sexy though. My body is on fire, pleasure licking up my spine and making my balls tighten. “I’m close.”

He nods, his forehead sliding against mine with the movement. “Fuck, me too.”

“You’re so fucking hot,” I say as I find his lips again, sliding my tongue inside. I fuck his mouth while I fuck his dick with my hand. “So good.”

“It’s so good. Oh God, Atlas.” He bites my bottom lip and cries out as his cum slides over my hand and into the water, making a total mess. It’s incredibly hot.

I thrust my hips forward, my own cock going off and spurting into my trunks. My dick jerks wildly in his hand. “So good.”

When we’re both too sensitive, we pull our hands away. But our lips are still joined, enjoying the euphoria of our orgasms.

I need to go.

I crossed a line, and I can’t find it in myself to regret it. But still—staying here . . . it probably sends a bad message. I know what this is. I know it’s temporary, and he’ll leave as soon as his agent or publicist or whoever the fuck sent him here tells him to come home.

I can’t get stupid and attached.

“Um.” I don’t move, our bodies still pressed together as one of my hands rests on the back of his neck. “I should uh . . .”

He makes it easy on me, not moving either, except to nod in agreement. “Yeah. Probably.”

I nod and steal a kiss from his lips again, keeping it brief before forcing myself away from him and toward the steps to climb out.

He follows me and grabs two towels, handing me one. I dry off, ignoring the sticky mess in my trunks. He seems to do the same, his cheeks blushing a pretty shade of pink as he looks everywhere but at me.

It’s too fucking cute.

“So, this was fun,” I say, using the towel to dry my hair.

He turns to look at me with a shy smile and nods. “It was.”

“I’ll see you Monday.”

“Monday?” His eyes widen as he looks me over, biting on his bottom lip, which is still swollen from our kisses.

I nod, putting the towel around my neck, already deciding to take it with me. I’ll be cleaning them up anyway. I’ll just toss it into the laundry Monday. “Yeah. You’re on the schedule.” I wink at him, and I swear the blush deepens.

“Oh.” He grins. “Okay. Try to keep it down.” He’s joking, his tone playful.

“Not a chance,” I say with a wave before I head out, leaving him on the back patio and trying like hell not to go back there.

I mean, what would we do? Lounge around? Talk about our feelings? Our childhoods? The weather?

No.

It’s best to just keep it simple.

I can totally do that.

Not a problem.

CHAPTER TEN

Elijah

Monday morning, I hear the knock on my door just as I was about to roll out of bed. I look at my phone and see it’s actually an hour later than the last time Atlas was here—well, to clean.

I try like hell not to think about Friday night in the pool. About his hard body against mine. About his big hand wrapping around my cock and stroking me until I saw goddamn stars.

No. I can’t think about that.

It’s stupid to think about that. It was just a one-time thing. A fluke. He, for some reason, saw me as more than a spoiled brat he cleans for that night, and I have no idea why.

But God, it was hot. It didn’t last long. We were both too desperate for it to last, but it was still the most exhilarating experience of my life. And then he said he needed to go.

And I realized pretty quickly this is probably something he does often with the guests.

I mean, why wouldn’t he?

They come here for a break from reality. He lives here. It’s easy, I’m sure, to have a good time and know they aren’t going to stick around and get needy.

Hell, maybe that’s exactly what I needed too.

There’ll be no begging for commitment from Atlas, that’s for damn sure.

I climb out of bed with a smile and walk to the front door, not bothering to pull anything on over my boxer briefs—he’s pretty much already seen it all anyway.

I pull open the door, and I swear my breath hitches just at the sight of him. His sandy-blond hair is styled in a messy way on top of his head. His bright white smile and his eyes sparkle with happiness instead of annoyance.

I could really get used to that.

He grins at me and then extends his right hand in my direction, holding a coffee-looking drink. “Here. I wasn’t sure what type of coffee you get, so I just chose the fanciest-looking one.”
